Work Experience:

June 2002-June 2006; Lead Artist for- DLA, An international team of game developers with work credits on several Bioware, (Atari -Wizards of the Coast) Digital Download Modules for use with NeverWinter Nights! Team members are from places like Canada, Germany, Brazil, Norway, Israel, Ireland, etc. We created custom content for games such as

Pirates of the Sword Coast,

Infinite Dungeons,

Dragon Lance Adventures,

Wyvern Crown of Cormyr (due out this summer).

January 2002 – June 2002; Art Director for- Dungeon Siege developers guild,(DSDG). Creating future modules for Dungeon Siege. Original game created by "Gas Powered Games", published by "Microsoft".

May 2001- August 2001- The Digital Generation, Florida. Created several scenes to promote new company, including 3D model of cheese which looked like computer key board, and mice characters created from computer mouse.

July 2001- November 2001- Par 2 Golf, Freeport Maine. Created 3D Golf course for use at town building board as a project proposal.

June 2000- August 2000- Maine State Lottery,Created 3D Ticket character, and animated him in a promo. Also created particle effects found in this commercial.

1998-PRESENT; Freelance 3D Digital Artist , Harpswell, Maine. Using an Intergraph TDZ2000, dual pentium system w/WildCat accelerator, under WINNT, 0n a Local Area Network consisting of 4 systems currently. Using 3D Studio MAX w/several plug-ins, PhotoShop, Adobe Premiere, Painter, Bryce 3D, etc.

1993-1998; Freelance Digital Artist, creating digital photo manipulations. Purchased a commercial Pentium system and started using primarily PhotoShop, Illustrator, Painter, Kai's Power tools, Poser, Elastic reality, Simply 3D and Eye Candy to create photographic manipulations and restoration/retouching of pictures for local photo labs.

1992-1996; My wife and I were foster parents for several special needs children, I used... Microsoft Word, Microsoft Works, Microsoft Excel, Micrographics Picture Publisher, Corel Draw, etc. to create Reports, Charts, and Graphs which informed the interdisciplinary team of progress, and setbacks.

1992; Program support Specialist, Bath Iron Works, Bath, ME. Contracted for 4 weeks. Worked on PowerMac. Systems to produce graphics to promote Aegis Destroyer program. Used Mac Draw, and Excel.

1988-1990; Commercial deep sea diver for Maine fishing industry. Dove thousands of dives for Urchins, Sea Scallops, Oysters, and Periwinkels. Usually during the winter months.

1987;  Lab Tech, Tom Jones Photography, Brunswick, ME. Color Negative Retouching, Color and B&W Printing and B&W negative processing.

1985-1986; Photo-Lab Tech. / Graphic Artist, K.E.W. Professional Photo Labs, Norwalk, CT. Supervisor copy Dept. Produced color and B&W internegatives, prints, negatives, and large format transparencies, logo creation and airbrushed photo retouching for companies like: Pepsi-Cola, Golf Digest Magazine, BIC Inc., etc.

1980-1982;  Supervisor B&W Printing / Photographer, U.S.S. Independence CV62, Norfolk, VA.  Quality assurance, production coordination, machine maintenance & quality control and Ariel Photographer.

1977-1980;  Photo-Lab Tech. / Photographer, Naval Intelligence Support Center (NISC),  Suitland, MD. Layout of top-secret SATCOM imagery, production of slides, viewgraphs and prints (color & B&W) for distribution to the White House, Pentagon, and Dept. of Defense. Duties included- Studio Photographer, Chemical Mixing, B&W Printing, Copy Dept, Duty Photographer.

 

Education:

2001; Completed course of instruction in 3D Studio MAX, at Bridge Education, Westbrook, ME.

1988- Bachelors of Arts Degree.  Natural Sciences/Math,  with an emphasis on computer sciences. University of Maine, at  Farmington, ME. Courses included...Fortran77, Pascal 1,2,and 3, Computer Architecture, Operating Systems, on Mainframe computers.

Created Diorama of Prehistoric life, included dozens of sculptures including Trilobites which I sculpted, created molds of, duplicated, assembled, and Airbrushed/ Hand painted. Examples are here...Diorama

1984; Airbrush Techniques, Steve Rubelmann, R&R Graphics, Orange, CT. Studied airbrushed photographic retouching.

1970-1974; Fine Arts Training, Alicia Stonebreaker, Brunswick, ME. Learned many forms of fine arts, discovered I had a natural ability for art. created Oil Paintings, Water colors, Pen and Ink, and Pastels. 2nd Place National Grange art contest for oil painting.
