The Smear Campaign Against The Forest Industry

During the fall of 1993 The Wilderness Society published the high altitude aerial photo shown below in their publication "The Northern Forest Forum" along with the usual implications of poor stewardship of the forest resources. Having worked extensively throughout this area on tree planting, weeding and thinning operations, I knew the landowners had invested hundreds of thousands of dollars in reforestation, and that the forest was healthy and well cared for.

In October of this year, (2000) I took a series of photographs here, in the Middlesex/Big W townships, in order to give people a real opportunity to see what this area looks like today. Please make a virtual visit to this beautiful area by clicking on the link corresponding to the region of interest. You'll see a series of current photos and brief descriptions of that area. The approximate lattitude & longitude coordinates are provided in case anyone wants to take a real life visit and verify these locations, (the "evil multinational corporation" who owns this land allows unlimited access and free use of camp sites). To get there, go to Rockwood, cross the Moose River, stay on the major road for about 8 miles, and the four way intersection you come to will be the one in the lower left hand corner of the aerial photo.
