concert Program for 2009

The Merrymeeting Community Band plays a repertoire of ballads, marches, show tunes, and
patriotic music in the spirit and tradition of community bands everywhere.

Our summer 2009 concert programs will feature a selection of pieces from those listed below.
Our program is subject to change without notice. Our programs generally run about 60-90 minutes.

  • A Klezmer Karnival (P. Sparke)
  • Over the Rainbow (Harburg and Arlen; arr. Jerry Brubaker)
  • Salute to the Duke (arr. Sweeney)
  • Selections from "My Fair Lady" (Lerner and Lowe; arr. Jack Bullock)
  • Oye Como Va (Tito Puente; arr. Michael Brown)
  • Grand Island Parade (Eric Osterling)
  • 25 or 6 to 4 (Robert Lamm, arr. Paul Murtha)
  • Selections from "Fiddler on the Roof" (Harnick and Bock, arr. James H. Burden)
  • "Ol' Blue Eyes" - a salute to Frank Sinatra (arr. Jerry Brubaker)
  • Build Me Up Buttercup (McCauley and D'Abo; arr. Paul Murtha)
  • America the Beautiful (Bates and Ward; arr. Warren Barker)
  • Normandy Beach (John Edmondson)
  • At the Cuzco Market (Mike Hannickel - ASCAP)
